“Eating Fat Makes You Fat, and Dieting Alone Won’t Lead To Weight Loss!”

2 entirely inaccurate statements repeatedly claimed old-school doctors and dietitians who refuse to remove their blinkers, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

There are 2 questions to ask and answer:

1. Why have thousands of modern medical doctors and nutritionists recognized that animal meat, fat, and the proper high-protein/fat, low-carb diet are optimal for humans, supporting weight loss optimal health?

2. Why are millions of old-fashioned medical doctors, nutritionists, and dietitians still insisting that consuming meat and animal fats are unhealthy, make you gain weight and become sick, and weight loss & health do not  depend on your diet?

I will start with the latter.

Old-School Medical Doctors and Nutritionists

It’s never easy to admit you’re wrong, especially if you’ve been practicing and prescribing your beliefs for decades.

It takes a big man (or woman) to step up to the plate and admit, okay, I got it wrong, and now I’ve changed my mind on the subject.

But when it comes to people’s metabolic and mental health, your responsibility is to seriously fact-check and stay up-to-date.

Then, look at the new evidence you’re drowning in but ignoring, and say: ok, I was wrong.

There’s nothing wrong with switching sides and admitting you followed the wrong path and gave ill advice. That’s life!

After all, you are not alone. Many followed the same government-issued nutritional guidelines you did and got it wrong too.

However, being impossibly stubborn and continuing to insist diets proven to cause weight gain, and cause illnesses are correct, is irresponsible and dangerous.

If your outdated beliefs are profit driven and your goal is to have as many clients/patients as possible, then you are behaving unethically. You know the real score at this point. It’s your choice to keep going in the same old direction harms your patients.

New, Modern Medical Doctors and Nutritionists

Obesity, heart disease, and stroke have risen dramatically during the last 30 to 50 years, and today we stand at an all-time high. I’ll show you an alarming study:

US obesity rates have tripled over the last 60 years USAFacts.Org

Nearly 70% of adults in the US are either overweight or obese.

According to nationwide surveys the National Institutes of Health has conducted since the early 1960s, US obesity rates have tripled over the last 60 years. Severe obesity, also known as morbid obesity, has risen tenfold.

State data suggests that just over a third of Americans are currently obese. However, nationwide data shows that this could be an underestimation. www.usafacts.org

Heart disease is the No 1 killer in the USA and most of the world. The sad part about this is that most heart disease cases are reversible or preventable by following a real, natural, heart-healthy diet and healthy lifestyle practices.

What are the leading causes of death in the US? www.medicalnewstoday.com

  • Deaths in 2017: 647,457Trusted Source
  • Percentage of total deaths: 23.5%

As the plaque develops, the arteries narrow. This makes it difficult for blood to flow around the body and increases the risk of heart attack or stroke. It can also give rise to angina, arrythmias, and heart failure. medicalnewstoday.com

The leading cause of heart disease and stroke is obesity. This condition develops following years of consuming unhealthy carb, and sugar-rich junk foods.

Those diets are the most popular and pushed by governments, insititions, and society as “healthy.”

Their names are:  The “balanced western diet” or the “standard American diet.”

Both are equal and very wrong. These officially recommended diets contain excessive amounts of carbohydrates and nowhere near enough animal protein and fats.

This diet also allows for a “reasonable” amount of sugar intake, which is the craziest thing anyone could advise.

Sugar is classified as food yet should be classified as a drug as it’s highly addictive. Sugar rots your teeth, stomach, and guts during digestion and converts to visceral fat deposited in your ever-growing fat cells — triglycerides.

Besides weight gain, sugar causes high blood pressure, acne, depression, migraines, stress, insomnia, insulin resistance, and many more conditions and illnesses.

You should eliminate sugar from your diet, while carbohydrates should be reduced to a bare minimum or completely cut out.

Sugar-burning vs. Fat-burning metabolisms

The average person is a carbohydrate sugar burner, which makes you addicted to carb-heavy foods and sugar to survive — not a good condition to be stuck in.

Carbs and sugar give you a brief burst of energy and “mind-satisfaction” as your blood sugar spikes.

But, like all spikes, it soon fades, your blood sugar drops, you feel tired, and you are soon hungry again.

Your eating habits and this process keep making you return for more food and snacks to satisfy your never-ending hunger.

A fat-burning metabolism works the opposite way.

You provide your body with nutrient-rich, anti-inflammatory foods, such as animal meats, fish, seafood, and eggs, and cut out the anti-nutrient and nutrient-poor, pro-inflammatory carbohydrates and sugars.

Doing so forces your body to look for an alternative fuel source namely, fat, which it soon finds.

Fat is your body’s preferred fuel source, not glucose.

Let’s take a fireplace as an analogy:

1 – If you keep throwing twigs into your fire, the flame will briefly soar and quickly fade again. You have to repeat the process for the fire to stay alive.

2 – If you patiently get a big log to burn, it will burn slowly for hours without reloading the fire by adding more twigs.

Your body works the same way!

The Carbohydrate and Sugar Myth

You do not need carbohydrates to survive – they along with fiber are both non-esssential nutrients. FACT!

Your liver can produce plenty of its own glucose for optimal brain function through a process called gluconeogenesis. Britannica.com

Carbohydrates are provided mainly by consuming grains and any food made from them.

Grains weren’t always on our menu — they were first cultivated at the advent of civilization when people moved to live in villages together some 20.000 years ago.

Before that, grains didn’t exist for millions of years!

Sugar, in any form and derived from any source, including honey, is sugar. Sugar is toxic to the human body and mind. Food for thought!

That’s how it is, and that’s why it’s best you avoid all sugars, reduce your carb intake, and boost your meat and fat consumption.

Final Thoughts

“Diet is only one of the components of weight management,” says Marcio Griebeler, MD, director of the Obesity and Medical Weight Loss Center at the Cleveland Clinic’s Endocrinology & Metabolism Institute. ‌”‌It’s much more than that. Don’t just focus on a diet, focus on a healthy lifestyle.”

This statement is inaccurate.

Whereas a “healthy lifestyle” is vital, the correct diet is the main component of that lifestyle.

As a result, your diet makes up around 85% of your weight loss success and weight management.

Other essential elements of a healthy lifestyle are:

  • Frequent aerobic movement, some strength training, a weekly sprint
  • Plenty of sleep and rest
  • Mind-calming practices like meditation, breathing, or yoga
  • Spending time in nature and with friends, having fun

“But there’s a robust body of research that suggests healthy fats, in moderation, are essential to health and can help with weight loss.”

“Numerous studies have demonstrated that eating a diet of reduced carbohydrates, moderate protein and healthy fats can lead to more weight loss and improvements in blood sugars, insulin, inflammatory markers and lipids versus a traditional low-fat dietary approach, Dr. Seger says.” www.Livestrong.com

Although going in the right direction, this is an incorrect and contradictory statement by Dr. Jenny Seger.

She admits reducing carbohydrate intake and instead consuming protein and fat promotes weight loss. What’s incorrect about this statement is the word “moderate.”

If you reduce or eliminate one food source, you must replace it with another, preferably a healthy and nutrient-dense one.

Those nutrients are the building blocks of life, your cells, made from protein and fat.

Therefore, most of your diet should consist of healthy animal and plant proteins and omega-3 fatty acids.

Eat well, folks, eat right and stay healthy.
