How You Can Live a Healthy Young Life for as Long as Possible

8 steps to staying young.

I look way younger than I am at my 50+ years of age. I’m not bragging or showing off; I’m only saying how it is.

It wasn’t always like that. I used to look considerably older than my age. People would regularly guess me 3 to 5 years older.

That was fine and useful when I was in my teens, but when you get into your 40’s well, looking older isn’t a blessing. At times, when I’m talking to folks (male or female), and they drop the age bomb, I’m shocked.

Some days ago, I talked to a British guy (with a large beer bottle in hand) at a beach restaurant. I couldn’t stop thinking about how unhealthy and old he looked. I guessed he’s about 60. A minute later, someone asked his age, and he promptly offered it — 50. I was shocked!

Next, someone asked my age — 52 years young I said! How do you keep looking so young and fit, Rob?

I get this question quite a lot and think twice if I’ll answer it properly or just say, I got lucky with my genes.

The reason is it’s quite a long answer, and you have to have the person’s attention, plus be sure you’re not wasting your time. Mostly, I’ll try to answer in detail with my 8 steps that work.

I wish to help as many people as possible regain their health and fitness, so I mostly try my best.

The 8 Logical Steps to Die Young as Late as Possible:

1) Your Diet.

This is the cornerstone of everything. The saying — “You are what you eat”- couldn’t be more accurate. Stop eating all processed foods, fast foods, wheat, and anything made from it.

Nourish your body with plenty of vegetables, meats, seafood, eggs, avocados, nuts and seeds, and healthy oils like olive oil, avocado oil, and real butter.

Eat clean following natural principles! They call it keto these days, but in reality, it simply means to eat real food, avoiding the stuff we shouldn’t eat.

2) Avoid Sugar.

It’s vital to avoid sugar, from all sources, for good! And with “all sources,” I mean including fruit, coconut, or palm sugar. Sugar is sugar, no matter where it comes from. Sugar is addictive, lights up your whole brain, making you crave for more.

3) Practice Intermittent Fasting.

I’ve been doing IF for over 6 years now, not because I force myself to, it’s because you just don’t need to eat more than twice a day. You reduce your calorie intake, keeping yourself in a caloric deficit, which means you lose weight or maintain your ideal weight.

In addition, fasting helps to remove dead cells through autophagy, which typically kicks in after not eating for around 14 hours. The efficient removal of dead cells helps to keep you young.

4) Walk, Swim and Train.

Get your daily dose of exercise. It doesn’t have to be a lot or rigorous. Many folks have got that upside down. Daily heavy workouts can age you and potentially cause heart disease due to excessive cortisol release, our stress hormone.

Walking, swimming, or gentle running for an hour a day is the best training, combined with simple bodyweight exercises 3 to 4 times per week. Your bodyweight session shouldn’t be longer than 15 to 20 minutes and can be done anywhere!

5) Sleep.

Quality and length of sleep. It’s scientifically proven that we function best on 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night. I read somewhere recently that we can easily operate on 4 or fewer hours of sleep. That’s garbage, sorry.

6) Meditation and Breathing.

Try to meditate in the morning and evening for 15-minutes each. Combined with deep, slow breathing, meditation slows down the mind, relaxes you, and eliminates stress. The less stress, the better!

7) Avoid Stress.

Stress can be a killer! Excessive stress has caused many heart attacks and deaths. Yet so many people are running around stressed out and in a hurry all day long. That’s bad for your heart and can accelerate aging. Stop stressing, relax and slow down to smell the roses.

8) Be Happy and Positive.

Last but not least, being happy and positive all day every day is essential for body and mind health. Start your day with positive affirmations about yourself, your goals, and what you ask for.

Be happy no matter what, be kind to yourself, and be friendly to others at all times. That will increase your happiness. A happy face will always look younger! Smile.

In Summary.

Do folks listen to me and follow my steps? Or carry on what they were doing? That depends on the person’s grasp of reality, their problem, and if they want to change.

Many listen intently and then say, but how can I live without enjoying bread, pasta, pizza, and rice? That’s not a life! That’s not true, and it’s easy to transform your body to become a fat burner rather than a sugar and carbohydrate burner.

The benefits are astonishing for your health, weight, and mindset. Many people simply don’t care where they are, what they look like, and how they feel until it’s often too late.

Thankfully, however, more and more who listen make an effort and start their transformation process. Back to a healthy life and looking and feeling younger!

Let’s stay young forever!

Rob
