Drinking Alcohol and Trying To Lose Weight To Become Healthy Is A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing

10 action steps summarizing what’s required to make it to the other side.

Enjoying wine on the keto-carnivore diet is fine, I wrote in a recent story. But I must correct myself — it’s not advisable to most — I’ll explain why.

I highlighted that if you can control your drinking habit, reduce it to as little as possible, and preferably only enjoy wine, you will lose weight and fix your health.

However, after discussing the effects of alcohol on the body and mind with a close friend and expert, especially with metabolically damaged people, I came to a different conclusion.

Let’s start from the other side — the healthy one

If you’re in perfect health, fat-adapted, and in great shape on the inside and outside, there’s no harm in enjoying the odd glass of wine.

That was the message I wanted to relay with my story:

Can You Drink Alcohol on The Keto-Carnivore Diet, or Do You Think That’s a No-Go and Counterproductive?

Unfortunately, or gratefully, I now realize — I oversimplified the matter.

While I continue to say it’s acceptable for physically and mentally strong folks who are in perfect health because they eat a proper diet, exercise correctly can enjoy alcohol with limitations — others, who are unwell, cannot.

Now to the side of the river — unhealthy, overweight, and depressed

If you’ve been stuck on that side for a while, some drastic actions are required to swim over and join the healthy camp.

The swim is a long way, and it’s challenging to make it to the shore without drowning, especially when you carry far too many extra pounds.

Therefore, I wish to correct some of the guidance I wrote in the above story for the 99% trapped in their health dilemma.

10 action steps summarizing what’s required to make it to the other side:

1 — Analyze your diet and understand what the food you put in your body is doing to you.

2 — Eat little to no carbs, no junk food, and cut out all sugars.

3 — Consume a healthy animal-based diet.

4 — Exercise regularly by walking, swimming, biking, or any other activity you enjoy.

5 — Leave the gym alone, and for the bodybuilders — it’s not where you will find your health.

6 — Spend way more time in nature, walking, playing, or sitting while thinking positively about your life.

7 — Get sun on your skin — the sunshine creates life and is not your enemy — it’s your friend. Just don’t bake in it all day!

8 — Get adequate quality sleep, and take rest breaks.

9 — Be kind to yourself. Talk optimistically about what you want to achieve, and go for it!

10 — Stop drinking all alcohol, at least until you fully recover your health. If you were an alcoholic, admit it and never go back.

That’s it.

Final Conclusion

I was wrong in saying it’s fine for everyone to enjoy wine on the keto-carnivore diet.

Those who’ve been successfully practicing it for years can drink some alcohol.

Folks just starting their new healthy life and weight loss journey should avoid all alcoholic beverages.

That may change once you’ve reached your goals and can limit your alcohol consumption.

But, until then, don’t drink.
