Why Breakfast is Not Your Most Important Meal of The Day

It’s time to debunk the three meals a day myth.

Meals - Meals - Meals!

Three meals a day are only necessary for those who need to “feed.”

If you don’t eat, you’ll feel weak and get grumpy. That’s not a great way to feel, so you must eat!

For most, the process starts with breakfast, as soon as you’re up and about. You have to eat to fuel up your energy and start your day.

Or so they say!

And that’s why “they” also say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, to get you going on the right foot and have a great day!

What happens next?

Come lunchtime, that hunger sensation appears again, and you need to eat to satisfy it and get your energy back. That’s the spike in your blood sugar working.

Not long after, you’ll feel a lull again as your blood sugar levels recede — the sugar low.

And, of course, the same picture presents itself as dinner time approaches. You’re hungry and must eat.

A satisfying meal for dinner will keep your hunger in check until you go to bed. Well, for some.

But then you’ve got the nighttime munchies where the snacks are cracked open. Another big problem.

You’re adding more calories of (mostly) junk food to your diet.

Sleep, wake up, and the cycle continues.

It’s morning — I’m hungry. I need my breakfast now so I can function.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the rollercoaster ride of a carbohydrate sugar-burning metabolism.

It all starts with that desperately needed and wrongfully peddled “most important meal of the day.”

Guess what? You don’t need three meals a day!

The whole breakfast, lunch, and dinner thing is made up by our cultures, society, and, your grumbling belly.

You’re adding too many calories, which you’re not burning off.

The ingested carbohydrates are converted to glucose in your bloodstream, which (if not burned) your insulin transports into your fat cells. And there, they’re stored as inaccessible triglycerides.

The result? Insidious weight gain! You’re getting heavier and unhealthier day by day.

You have other options.

You can skip one meal a day, reducing caloric intake and thus the problem.

However, as long as you continue the sugar and carbohydrate-burning metabolism, nothing much can change how your body responds.

Plus, skipping a meal can result in you feeling sluggish and grumpy. You don’t want that.

The wiser option is to go low carb or full keto. After a month, your body will transform into an efficient fat-burning machine! That means you start to burn internal and external fat for fuel and the protein, fat, and fibers consumed by eating natural foods.

There are many nay-sayers claiming you must eat a good amount of carbs to have a healthy “balanced” diet.

It’s not true. You consume enough carbs by eating your vegetables. Yet by cutting out the bread, rice, pasta, noodles, cereals, chips, candy, and such things, you’re eliminating tons of needless calories and eating real natural food.

Just like our ancient ancestors had to!

The big benefit.

Once you convert to a fat burner, you’ll rarely feel hungry or the need to eat. You’ll eat when you want to, not when the clock or your mind tells you to.

Next to tremendous excess weight loss, you’ll experience the incredible sensation of all-day high energy levels without ever feeling tired.

Now you haven’t only eliminated foods that cause weight gain and potential illness, you’ve also cut your mental “need” to eat.

In this scenario, eating once or twice a day is easy without causing stress.

A quick look at Intermittent Fasting.

I’ve been practicing IF for 6 years, without a single cheat day. I don’t look at it as a fasting ritual – it comes naturally and with ease.

I simply don’t want to eat in the morning — I’m not hungry and have tons of energy.

My breakfast routine consists of a lot of lemon water, two coffees, and a long morning walk. That’s it!

Your morning becomes a super-efficient calorie-burning time in a fasted state, as your energy is supplied from within instead of ingested food.

In Summary.

Breakfast is not the most important meal of the day. It’s a meal you may need or not need depending on your diet.

Eating three meals a day is a big calorie dump on your body, which can rarely be digested or burned.

The result: you’re adding weight and fat to your body.

Skipping one meal a day or going back to the way nature intended us to eat will reduce or eliminate the hunger sensation.

It will provide you with all-day steady energy, support you in reaching your optimal body weight, and make you a lot healthier, all around.

Rob
