I’ve been Keto-Carnivore for 8 Years Eating 2 Meals A Day — I Switched To 1 Meal and Fast 24 Hours Daily — It Feels Awesome!

Two meals per day were a given for me because I love my food and devoured each lunch and dinner.

I know many keto-carnivore’s who eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner because they are into the “bulking up” their muscles game.

These guys boast about how much food they eat and how much they train while ignoring that daily hard workouts are bad for heart health.

Once a bodybuilder, always a bodybuilder — it’s near impossible to get that group to see sense.

They eat high-quality protein and animal fat, but they’re overeating to look like a new “Arnold,” preaching they achieved it on an animal-based diet — without steroids, which I don’t believe!

That’s all well and good. But it’s still not good for your metabolism, cortisol-related heart stress, insulin resistance, and more.

Eating right, but less is more. Training less but smart is best!

There’s no need to look like a gigantic beast, carnivore or not. It’s unnatural and not what we humans are supposed to be.

Your optimal body composition, weight, and muscle mass should be obtained naturally, without a massive body, thick neck, and a small pin-head!

Why I switched from 2 meals to 1 meal a day – in short OMAD!

I know many folks who follow the one-meal-a-day concept — they all look good and tell me they feel great.

Their cognitive or physical performance doesn’t suffer — in fact, it improves.

A good friend, mental, and colleague repeatedly told me this:

“Rob, I’ve been on 1 meal per day for years. It helped me lose all internal and external fat after age 50 — I have a 6-pack, I’m full of all-day energy, and I feel great.” Dr. Mehmet Yildiz

The doctor has followed this protocol for over 15 years, and it worked wonders for him.

Please read a few excerpts from his fabulous article:

Here’s What Happened on One-Meal-a-Day After 15 Years.

“Time-restricted eating (intermittent fasting) means that we consume the required calories in a specific feeding window and give the body a chance to rest, digest, and recover when not eating within a separate window.”

Intermittent fasting might be challenging for some people, especially those whose bodies run on glucose only as energy. My solution was to switch my body to fat-burning mode.

We get our calories from either fat or carbs. Both provide energy. Fat is denser than carbs, as one gram of fat provides calories twice the same amount of carbs. Fat has significantly less impact on insulin, which is compelling for me.

Fixing my leaky gut and eliminating bloating and abdominal distention was a bonus. I also fixed a dozen of disorders that bothered me for years.

My fat, muscle, and bone profile improved. As I age, I strive for lean muscles, reduced fat, and dense bones.

This regimen significantly reduced my chronic stress and chronic inflammation. Thus, my cognitive flexibility and emotional maturity increased.” Dr. Mehmet Yildiz

Those are a few key quotes to quickly help you understand the benefits of the one-meal-a-day eating window and 24-hour Intermittent Fasting.

Please read the rest of his wonderful explanations in the article I presented above.

Once you are fat-adapted, you rarely feel hungry

Whatever diet you’re on, eating is a psychological impulse your brain controls, along with an overstimulated appetite.

I’ve been fat-adapted and mostly carb-free for 8 years — I never feel hungry. I simply fancy eating my tasty food, so I decided to opt for 2 meals a day for my new lifestyle.

But, a few days ago, I didn’t eat lunch because of long meetings until 4 pm.

When I finally arrived home, I made a nice, juicy rib-eye steak with cheese and a few hard-boiled eggs.

When I finished my meal, it was close to 5 pm. I then thought:

“What will you have for dinner, as you ate “lunch” so late?”

That was when I realized and decided I could also easily switch to 1 meal a day without feeling tired or hungry.

That’s what I did without experiencing any decline in energy or cognitive function. I easily kept up my walking, swimming, and bodyweight training program with less food intake.

My performance and energy have stayed the same. On the contrary — I feel lighter, I have more time to go about my daily work and chores, and I, like the doctor, feel better than I already did.

Final Thoughts

I never fancied the idea of only 1 meal a day. It made me feel deprived of good, tasty, and healthy food.

The opposite is the case.

As long as you make your 1 meal great, with lots of protein, healthy fats, and some herbs and spices, which I enjoy to spice things up, you soon get used to it and will love it!

I have a 4-pack. Now, along with my walking, swimming, moderate bodyweight training, and 1 meal daily, I will soon see my 6-pack again!
